Park Place Lodge Summary

Park Place Lodge puts you right in the heart of Fernie town, with downtown’s shops, cafés and après-ski spots all within walking distance. You won’t be staying slopeside, but the shuttle bus stops 10m from the hotel and gets you to the mountain in just 15 minutes – easy, breezy.

Inside, the lodge blends classic mountain charm with boutique comfort. Think warm wood accents, inviting spaces, and a relaxed, friendly vibe. You’ll stay in one of the deluxe double rooms with balconies which can take up to four – spacious, homely and ideal for soaking up some fresh air in the mornings.

Off the slopes, you’ll likely be drawn to the chandelier-lit central atrium with its indoor pool and hot tub, the latter set in a conservatory-style structure. Unconventional, yes – but totally memorable. After a dip, swing by the on-site Pub Bar & Grill to enjoy the local brews, hearty pub fare and casual atmosphere. And if you fancy fuss-free mornings, upgrade your stay to get breakfasts at the hotel’s bistrot included – think bacon-topped waffles and eggs done every way. Add in ski lockers, a fitness room and a bottle shop, and you’ve got everything you need under one roof.

The Lower Mountain seems tailor made for newbies, with the Mini and Mighty Moose areas easing learners and little ones into the basics, under the tutelage of the excellent Telus Winter Sports School (this is also where you’ll find floodlit skiing on certain evenings). The Griz Bar at the base of the mountain is the place to go after a day on the slopes. Refuel with cold beers and pub grub or ask for their famous “Mogul Smoker” (a magnificent rum and Kahlua concoction).
