Ideally situated at the foot of the mountain, the modern Myrkdalen Hotel offers ski-in, ski out access to the Myrkdalen mountain via the Myrkdalsekspressen chairlift which is conveniently located next to the hotel. Head up the mountain and enjoy a variety of cruisy blues, lovely long red runs and a few challenging black slopes. If you want to continue skiing in the evening, the slopes just behind the hotel are lit up three nights a week so you can get even more ski time in.
The Myrkdalen Hotel exudes a traditional Norwegian charm, with a sleek, modern design and timber cladding on the exterior. Large windows offer breathtaking views of the mountain landscape from anywhere within the hotel.
The hotel is the focal point of the resort, with most of the resort facilities centred around the hotel. For the keen skiers and snowboarders, the slopes and lifts are just behind the hotel so you can be first on and off the mountain each day.
The Myrkdalen Hotel is offered on a bed and breakfast but you can upgrade to half board. During the booking process, just change your room type to a room with half board included.
The food here is not to be missed, breakfast is included, so fuel up for the day at the extensive buffet breakfast with sweet and savoury options.
Evening meals are served at the modern Restaurant Nuten - the menu features locally sourced, high-quality ingredients with dishes inspired by Norwegian flavours, inspired by the natural surroundings and with views to the slopes and surrounding mountains, it is the perfect spot for dinner.
With the half board option, you can sample the other Myrkdalen Hotel Restaurants as once a week you can dine in both the Restaurant Nuten Fondue, which specialises in delicious Swiss-style fondue, and in the Restaurant Tunet, which serves tasty stone baked pizzas and pasta.
Afternoon tea is available in the hotel and can be booked and paid for locally.
