· 12 minutes’ walk to the resort centre · 12 minutes’ walk to the main lift, nursery slopes and ski school meeting point · ski bus stop opposite
Away from the hustle and bustle in the resort centre, the Sant Gothard’s a good pick if you’re looking for a laid-back base for your ski trip. And as the free ski bus stops right outside, getting to the slopes is still nice and simple.
Style-wise, it’s got a fresh, modern feel from top to bottom, with lots of light coloured wood and neutral tones. As for extras, the hotel bar is your one for evening fun, with its regular live music and evening entertainment. Or, for something more relaxing, check out the hot tub and sauna in the hotel spa. And if you’re after some kid-friendly après action, then the arcade machines in the games room will tick the box.
When it’s time to eat, head down to the spacious dining room for buffet-style breakfasts and evening meals. There’s always a varied spread, whether you prefer sticking with familiar favourites or feel like sampling some of the local fare. And with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the gardens, you’ll get to enjoy the snowy scenery while you tuck into your food too.

•Lively après ski •Varied ski area •Family friendly skiing
Arinsal may remain one of Europe’s most underrated ski destinations, but year on year it closes the gap on the larger resorts. With some of the sunniest skiing in Europe, incredible duty free shopping and dining and a massive range of off slope activities, Arinsal is a more than viable alternative, especially during the busiest weeks of the season.
