Overview - hotel description - Hotel Splendid description

NB: while the Supplier rating is 3.5 Star, the Official rating is 3 Star.

The homely Hotel Splendid is in a great spot for Sauze’s main Clotes chairlift. It’s just a 5-minute walk away or a quick hop on the ski bus, which stops right outside. And on your way back off the mountain, the hotel’s small patio is a secret sun spot for a Bombardino before you head to the swimming pool for a soak.

Rooms at the Splendid are comfortable and cosy, with an Alpine feel that’s only matched by the hotel’s bar and lounge. It’s the perfect place for a relaxed evening tipple and has a pool table, big TV and kids’ board games to entertain all ages.

Please note:

· There is a 15-minute uphill walk to the hotel upon arrival · Indoor swimming pool and sauna are open everyday from 4.30pm-7.30pm

Getting Here

With lots of pedestrianised and cobbled, narrow streets, coach access in Sauze d’Oulx is fairly limited. When you arrive in resort, the coaches will drop you off at the Tourist Information Centre in resort. From here, you’ll leave your luggage with us – we’ll sort out all the logistics of transporting your things to your accommodation – before heading off on a resort walkabout with our reps who will help you get your bearings and escort you to the Hotel Splendid, a 15-minute walk away. Make sure you wear some sturdy shoes and warm clothing - it can get a bit snowy underfoot.

Infamously known as the best area for après ski in the Italian Alps, there's something for everyone here, from chilled out cocktail bars to cosy balcony café's and lively party places. Having disposed of its previous branding as the Ibiza on the slopes, the resort has a much more refined feel, whilst maintaining the dynamic après atmosphere. "All happy, fine for what you pay"

Mr Kingdon, Honiton
4/ out of 5
I rated it, Eddie the barman was good entertainment and always seems to get a special mention! The Splendid is a clean, standard hotel – for what you pay it’s fine. It’s in a bit of a steep location at the top of a hill, which was a bit of a pain if you wanted to go out in the evenings. For skiers getting out was fine as you can just ski down to the lifts. Bedrooms just had showers rather than baths, but everyone was happy with theirs. The food was ok, not the best I’ve ever had but every night they did something different.
