Overview - hotel description - Hotel Rodella description

The friendly and cosy Hotel Rodella is perfectly placed on its own exclusive little hill with superb panoramic views of the valley and mountains including the Sella Massif and Sassolungo. The unique and stunning location does mean resort is a 25 minute walk away but with the free local bus stopping every 30 minutes during peak times and the hotel running a daily shuttle to and from the lifts, this could be the ideal setting for someone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Better yet, in good conditions you can ski to the Santa Cristina lift straight from the hotel.

The real star of the show however is the hotel's cuisine. Hotel Rodella has been awarded the prestigious ‘Gambero Rosso award’ recognising exceptional Italian food and wine.

This hotel is definitely a little bit special and with every room having a balcony with stunning views of the Dolomites, it's perfect if you need to escape. The newly refurbished spa is an added bonus - it's so nice to come back for a sauna or steam bath after a day out on the slopes. The heated indoor pool connects to the outside, where you'll have the most incredible views of the mountains too!

Transfer time: approx. 3 hours by coach from Innsbruck airport.

This package holiday to Hotel Rodella in Selva, Italy departs Saturday 18th March 2023, for a 7 night stay on a "half board" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. Selva is the best known and highest of Val Gardena’s close-set group of villages, which also include Ortisei and Santa Cristina. Val Gardena is part of the expansive Dolomiti Superski area and topping the list of reasons to visit the Dolomites, or ‘Pale Mountains’, is its status as a UNESCO world heritage site - Selva has some striking views of the Sassolungo massif and Puez mountains on either side. Named “Sëlva” by its Ladin speaking locals (the name apparently comes from the Ladin word for wood) or “...
The nursery slopes are close to town and there’s a nice collection of blues towards one side of Piz Seteur and at Plan de Gralba (it’s worth mastering the bus timetable when going onto Plan de Gralba as taking the mountain route can land a beginner on some rather tricky reds). There are a number of ski school options available as well as a Fun Park for the younger-hearted. Just by looking at the piste map you can see the intermediate-friendly nature of the skiing here. For those re-discovering their ski leg...
Italian resorts don’t tend to be overly wild when it comes to après ski but with 20 bars, 45 restaurants and 2 main clubs Selva does rather well... If you’ve never had the iconic Bombardino beverage, this is a good place to sample one! Bar Saltos is a good foodie spot with a sometimes themed menu and music scene for later on. La Stua, near the Costabella ski lift, is great for après ski with a sunny terrace and live music. By the Dantercepies, Panorama does some hearty dishes, perfect before the final run...
