The spacious rooms range from single to triple and are warm, bright and simply furnished, all with satellite television and balconies, some of them boasting magnificent lake views. Visitors may take advantage of the large indoor swimming pool with heated thermal water, ideal to take a dip and relax after a long day of sightseeing. The pool offers breathtaking views over the Bled Castle. The wellness area also includes a whirlpool as well as a sauna. One of the prettiest towns in Europe, and most probably the world. Bled isn’t enormous in the skiing department, but it’s a bucket list destination nonetheless – and the lift pass covers a handful of other Slovenian resorts to sink your skis into. Whatever you do, don’t forget your camera.

Bled has to be one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen. First off, there’s tiddly Bled Island, where a cluster of buildings and trees huddle under a tall Gothic church. The Straža chairlift was the first in Slovenia, and opened in 1954 after WWII – a decade later it was joined by the rope tow on Mala Straža.
