A firm favourite for guests wanting to ski in Arinsal and Arcalis, the 3-star Hotel Palarine is a great value option for a short ski break in Andorra since it offers a very friendly atmosphere, superb service, excellent food and a ski bus direct to the Arinsal lifts, some 5 minutes' drive away.
The Palarine is situated in the tiny hamlet of Erts on the banks of the River Pollós, just under 2km from the main gondola in the centre of Arinsal. Thanks to a regular bus service the resort is easily accessible, as is the capital Andorra la Vella in case you prefer some duty-free retail therapy or a trip to the Caldea Spa.
The hotel has 36 bedrooms, all of which are presented in a traditional style and a choice of twin/double, triple and quad rooms are available. Bedrooms are spacious and each one has an ensuite bathroom and WC, hairdryer, TV with satellite channels and free Wi-Fi.
Meals are home-cooked with a different theme each evening; this can be Italian, Indian, Mexican and Asian but with a firm focus on the British palate, as this is a hotel usually frequented by Brit skiers and boarders. An extensive buffet breakfast of hot and cold dishes is included in your holiday price, plus if you're staying for New Year, a special gala dinner and drinks will be thrown in on 31st December.
The hotel bar Bambu is akin to an English pub, with an open fireplace and large screen TV showing the big sports games; it's a fun place to hang out in the evenings if you don't want to head into the resort since you get a great mix of locals and hotel guests to socialise with.
In summary the Palarine is a brilliant ski hotel offering excellent all-round facilities, slightly out of town but with plenty going on in the evenings to keep you occupied.
