The Kompas is perfectly placed in town, with quiet open space out the back and easy access into the centre from the entrance. It’s a very short walk to the tourist information centre, ski hire shop and local bars and restaurants.
The ski lifts are similarly nearby, with the Dolenčev Rut chairlift and Preseka 2 draglift being used for night skiing some evenings.
The Hotel Kompas in Kranjska Gora is a firm favourite with customers, due to its friendly atmosphere and excellent location – near the centre of the resort and just a minute’s walk to the lifts.
Simple, comfortable rooms come with satellite TV and WiFi. There’s a great choice too, from singles and doubles to triples and quads, meaning families and groups of all sizes can be accommodated easily.
The hotel prides itself on offering the local cuisine, so try some traditional delicacies for dessert, washed down with fine Slovenian wine. There are, of course, a variety of options available at the hot and cold buffet breakfast and 4-course buffet dinner.
There are also some excellent facilities to help you unwind after a day on the slopes. Take a dip in the large indoor pool and separate kids’ pool, or relax in the wellness area’s sauna, hot tub or Turkish steam bath. Into the evening, find a seat in the lounge and cocktail bar or let your hair down in the nightclub.

•Family fun •Easy Skiing •Beautiful scenery
Endearing architecture joins beautiful lakes, Limestone Mountains and far-ranging rivers here near the meeting of the Italian, Austrian and Slovenian Alps, but Kransjka’s much more than a pretty face. You’ll also find a world championship slalom and one of the world’s first ski jumps to pit yourself against, while terrific tuition and forgiving slopes make this a solid choice for a first time trip with the brood.
