We’ve stayed in the Himalaia loads of times, it’s one of the best in Pas. Overview: hotel description: Hotel Himalaia Pas description

The Tibetan themed Hotel Himalaia Pas sits right next to the slopes and is just a short walk to the nearest chairlift and resort centre. It's a great standard of accommodation and the atmosphere is relaxed thanks to the open spaces and warming colours used in the furniture and artefacts. It really is an ideal place to call home while you're in the mountains.

Off the slopes, catch up on your holiday book in the reading room or try something a bit more competitive in the games room. The indoor pool, sauna and hot tub are the ultimate in relaxation so be sure to check out all three before you leave. Overall, it's a great choice for groups looking to balance relaxation and excitement during their Andorran stay.

Not only is Pas de la Casa the highest ski resort in the Pyrenees (it sits at a lofty 2100m), but it’s also the sunniest. The après ski scene is arguably one of the best in Europe, and the resort is also home to some of the best shopping in the country… so far, so good! The first lift was installed by ski legend Francesc Viladomat in 1956, and the resort has been growing ever since. The village of Grau Roig was soon incorporated into the ski area, and when the resorts joined forces (and linked lifts) with ...
The variety of terrain is apparent as soon as you leave the village- from the six seater Font Negre or the smaller Costa Rodonda you’ll be able to access one of the regions snowparks, the boardercross track, beginners zone and a freeriding area. The beginners area at the base of the valley has a few incredibly gentle lifts and approachable nursery slopes and at the end of the day all levels of skier can ski right down into the village – the red/blue Tubs will take you virtually to the door of your hotel. ...
Pas de La Casa really comes into its own when it comes to the après scene, with locals and tourists alike taking liberal advantage of the duty free drink prices and late opening times. Eating out is much cheaper than you’d expect in a ski resort as well- most of the restaurants serve a selection of family friendly European food, though you’ll be able to find some local Andorran specialties (such as the warming escudella stew) at Costa Rodona. There’s a McDonalds and a Burger King for the unadventurous, w...

We’ve stayed in the Himalaia loads of times, it’s one of the best in Pas. The location is the best thing – something like 90 seconds and you’re on the slopes, just walk up to the underground locker room which is free (but bring your own padlock or they charge). It’s a comfy place with huge rooms and a really nice Jacuzzi and swimming pool. The food they serve is basic but there’s always something nice to eat, they do things like burgers, chicken, swordfish... Runner beans for breakfast was really weird, but they seemed to go! In all it’s a really good hotel with everything you want.

The hotel was fine, we had no problems with it. We got the room we requested as we know from experience that some of the rooms were really hot and they tend to get smaller as you get towards the attic. We like floor 3 and had a room facing the piste. The food was alright, we also ski in Cervinia which is hard to beat, but it was perfectly edible here. They did a Christmas Eve meal, which was similar food to the rest of the week but with a glass of bubbly and decorations… The staff were very helpful and we made good use of the swimming pool and Jacuzzi throughout the week, which were always very warm. As for the location, the hotel is close to the top of the hill so if you want to get to the big shops it’s fine to walk down but a bit of a trek back up the zig zags – it wasn’t much trouble for us as we were on an active holiday anyway and you can take it easy and stop off in bars along the way. To get to the skiing is very easy, you’re literally a stone’s throw from the piste and can walk through a tunnel to a hotel on the piste side. I would recommend renting skis from the Duna Blanca shop by the Olympiades hotel if you're staying here - not to be mistaken with a shop of the same name half a mile away that our rep mistakenly sold us ski hire at. We got a refund in the end and it turned out to be a lot cheaper not to pay on the coach but to go directly to the shop, despite the rep's claim that you can't get it anywhere cheaper...
