A great place. For a 3 star hotel it had everything we needed – a good sleep and good food. It’s a hotel for relaxed people, like being at home. It was perfect for its purpose. Overview - hotel description - Hotel Gran Baita description

The Hotel Gran Baita has long been a favourite with customers thanks to its warm Alpine interiors and friendly staff. It’s a charming, family-run hotel in a quieter part of Sauze d’Oulx, but still close to the nightlife and ski bus stop, which are each just 2 minutes' walk away.

The clean and comfortable rooms are spacious and feature Italian chalet-style décor with contemporary touches. And there’s a selection of rooms available from singles to family rooms for up to five people.

After a long day on the mountain, pamper yourself in the hotel’s wellness area. Treat yourself to a moment of peace (or several) in the Scandinavian sauna, massage shower and relaxation area. The rustic lounge bar with its authentic wood panelling is the place for friendly pre-drinks or cosy nights in – with its open fireplace, sofas and family games.

Meals are served in the traditional Italian dining room. Each morning, set yourself up with a selection of delicious treats from the hot and cold buffet. The restaurant serves a nightly feast of homemade Italian dishes, with Italian antipasti. A 3-course evening meal comes with a choice of menu and salad buffet.

Tree-lined plateaus, wide lengths of varied terrain and beautiful scenery make up the skiing here. Beginners will find the nursery slopes at the foot of the Clotes chair, and the lift takes you to the main ski area at Sportina where lessons also take place. You don't have to conquer the lift process before even having the snow under your skis - regular shuttle buses provide an easy ride for beginners to get out on to the piste. After acing the ski lift, take the chair up to blue 42, connecting to number 30 for a...
Infamously known as the best resort for après ski in the Italian Alps, there's something for everyone here, from chilled-out cocktail bars to cosy balcony cafés and lively party places. Having disposed of its previous branding as the Ibiza on the slopes, the resort has a much more refined feel, whilst maintaining the dynamic après atmosphere. The modern resort centre is where the liveliest après occur: ski down the home run to Sportina and head straight from the slopes to Capanna Mollino, a slope-side b...

"friendly staff and only one minute from the centre of town"

Steffan Bartmanski, London

A great place. For a 3 star hotel it had everything we needed – a good sleep and good food. It’s a hotel for relaxed people, like being at home. It was perfect for its purpose. The staff were very friendly, always there for me, not only for requests but also for a chat. I think the owner is an ex-professional skier; there were lots of photos around the hotel of ski competitions. I chatted with him and the other staff every night, the whole team was very friendly. The location is another big positive. It’s only one minute from the centre and the lifts are about 5 minutes’ walk. The short walk is a good warm up before skiing!
