A great place. For a 3 star hotel it had everything we needed – a good sleep and good food. It’s a hotel for relaxed people, like being at home. It was perfect for its purpose. Location - where is Hotel Gran Baita

The hotel is just a 5 minutes’ walk up to the Clotes chairlift or a 12 minutes’ walk up to the Sportinia chairlift. Either one takes you into the heart of the Milky Way ski area, with Sportinia having a variety of lively bars and restaurants, and is the meeting point for ski school. If you don’t fancy the walk, jump on the ski bus just 2 minutes from the hotel. It’s not free but it’ll save you the ski boot struggle. A 2-minute walk will get you into the centre of the town. Lively bars including Miravallino and a little further up to The Village are great for an evening out.

Overview - hotel description - Hotel Gran Baita description

The Hotel Gran Baita has long been a favourite with Crystal customers with its warm Alpine interiors and friendly staff. It’s a charming, family-run affair in a quieter part of Sauze d’Oulx, but still close to the nightlife and ski bus stop, which are each just a 2-minute walk.

The clean and comfortable rooms are spacious and feature Italian chalet-style décor with some contemporary touches. Each room is carpeted with wooden furniture and private bathrooms. And there’s a selection of rooms available from singles to family rooms for up to five people.

After a long day on the mountain, pamper yourself in the hotel’s wellness area. Treat yourself to a spell in the Scandinavian sauna, massage shower and relaxation area. The rustic lounge bar with its authentic wood panelling is the place for friendly pre-drinks or cosy nights in – with its open fireplace, sofas and family games.

Meals are served in the traditional Italian dining room. Each morning, set yourself up with a selection of hot and cold buffet. The excellent restaurant serves a nightly feast of homemade Italian cuisine with Italian antipasti. A 3-course evening meal comes with a choice of menu and salad buffet.

Getting Here

With lots of pedestrianised and cobbled, narrow streets, coach access in Sauze d’Oulx is fairly limited. When you arrive in resort, the coaches will drop you off at the Tourist Information Centre in resort. From here, you’ll leave your luggage with us – we’ll sort out all the logistics of transporting your things to your accommodation – before heading off on a resort walkabout with our reps who will help you get your bearings and escort you to the Hotel Gran Baita, an 8-minute walk away. Make sure you wear some sturdy shoes and warm clothing - it can get a bit snowy underfoot.

"friendly staff and only one minute from the centre of town"

Steffan Bartmanski, London

A great place. For a 3 star hotel it had everything we needed – a good sleep and good food. It’s a hotel for relaxed people, like being at home. It was perfect for its purpose. The staff were very friendly, always there for me, not only for requests but also for a chat. I think the owner is an ex-professional skier; there were lots of photos around the hotel of ski competitions. I chatted with him and the other staff every night, the whole team was very friendly. The location is another big positive. It’s only one minute from the centre and the lifts are about 5 minutes’ walk. The short walk is a good warm up before skiing!
