Surrounded by conifer forests, and in the shadow of Pale di San Martino – a group of towering Dolomite peaks – Hotel Fratazza sits in a beautiful location. Just a short stroll from the Tognola cable car, the accommodation offers easy access to the region’s three small ski areas, spanning 60km of wide, well-groomed piste. The resort itself is relatively quiet, but there are a few shops, restaurants, and a couple of laid-back bars to pick from.

The hotel is an ideal no-frills base. Rooms are simple, warmly furnished with wood furniture and have a TV, bathrobes, safe and a hairdryer. But perhaps the hotel’s biggest draw is the Italian restaurant, which makes mealtimes a breeze. Start the day with a continental buffet breakfast, then finish it with a tasty 3-course evening meal. Bellissimo.

There’s not much in the way of extra facilities, but you’ll be able to use the boot room to store your gear and there’s also a fun games room – table football anyone? Plus, there's a small bar, which makes a nice spot to relax after a busy day.
