· 2 minutes’ walk to the resort centre · 4 minutes’ walk to the ski bus stop for shuttle to the Malina lift (takes approx. 10 minutes and runs every 30 minutes)
Hotel Dafovska is a great-value, no-fuss pick that goes big on warm hospitality and great views. It sits just a couple of minutes’ walk from Pamporovo’s resort centre, so popping out for a wander is easy. You’re also close to the ski bus stop, which shuttles you over to the Malina lift in no time. Between ski days, there are plenty of spots around the hotel – including sun terraces – where you can sit back and soak up those mountain and valley views.
The hotel has a small, friendly feel. It’s owned by Ekaterina Dafovska, Bulgaria’s Olympic gold medallist biathlete, and you might even spot her around the place. Her medals are proudly displayed in reception, which feels very on-brand. Rooms are simple, clean and traditional, with dark wood furniture and floral curtains, and you can choose between a hotel room or an apartment if you want a bit more space for your family.
Breakfast and evening meals are served buffet-style, with a good mix of familiar favourites and Bulgarian dishes. There’s a bar for post-ski drinks, and if you fancy winding down properly, you can pay a little extra to use the spa’s sauna, steam room and hot tub, or treat yourself to a massage.
