Must-Try Experiences

A chic stroll around Saint-Moritz
Dotted with hundred-year-old palaces and traditional wooden chalets, Saint-Moritz is the most exclusive of alpine ski resorts. Wander through the heart of the village, which has kept its authentic charm with a dose of extravagance. Get lucky at the casino, perched at 1,850 metres above sea level, in the company of high society. Relax in the thermal baths with snowy peaks in background.

White Turf
Watch a thrilling horserace (on demand) across a frozen lake. The unique “White Turf” race takes place every year on the Saint-Moritz lake, transformed for the occasion into a large white racecourse. Around, spectators chatter excitedly, sharing odds and whispering tips. Make the most of this magical moment with your friends, over a glass of champagne(1).(1) On demand. Excessive drinking is dangerous for the health.

A Nordic ski getaway
Go cross-country skiing and glide under different species of conifer, dotted over 220 kilometres of slopes dug into layers of snow. Look up and admire the peaks as you explore the paths around the three Grison lakes. For more challenge, follow the tracks of the legendary Engadin ski marathon between Maloja and S-chanf, where a pure sense of freedom is guaranteed.

A half-half fondue
Sit back and enjoy a family dinner in the welcoming atmosphere of the Stubli restaurant. Artwork on the wall depicts a hamlet with its traditional winter chalets. Hearts are sculpted into the backs of the chairs. The chef has prepared a traditional Swiss fondue: half gruyere cheese, half Vacherin Fribourgeois. Pour yourself a glass of Chardonnay (1) and plunge your bread into the bubbling fondue pot.(1) Excessive drinking is detrimental for your health

St Moritz is THE original ski town, having seen the start of winter tourism way back in 1864. One of the world’s high society resorts, it’s more exclusive than Zermatt but without the bling of Courchevel. With multiple ski areas and stonkingly pretty sights, it has to be skied at least once.

In south-western Switzerland, surrounded by the majestic Upper Engadine valley, sits eternally glamorous St. Moritz. We owe a lot to this resort, which sparked the start of winter tourism – the manager of the Kulm Hotel bet his summer guests they’d love the snowy season, promising to reimburse their stay if they didn’t. Naturally they had a ball and have been returning ever since. The biggest names in Hollywood, fashion and everything else have graced the scene over the years, including Audrey Hepburn, H...
There’s a long history of skiing here; the Swiss Ski School was the first ski school in Switzerland and has been running since 1929. Don’t let the fragmentation of the resort’s four ski areas put you off. Corviglia is big enough to keep many visitors entertained all holiday. It’s accessible by funicular from St. Moritz Dorf, or gondola from St. Moritz Bad, with runs back down to both parts of the town. The other areas tend to be wonderfully quiet even in peak season, thanks to the slight extra effort it take...
The après-ski in St. Moritz is famous the world over for its posh bars and high-profile clientele – anyone wanting to see and be seen can party with royalty at King’s Club till sunrise, or go dancing at the stylish Diamond Club. You can’t deny the air of exclusivity, and there are certainly some members-only clubs (ever heard of the infamous Dracula’s Ghost Rider’s Club?) but that’s not to say anyone seeking a low-key atmosphere will be let down. The Devil's Place is a quirky bar with a record breaking 2...

"The most affordable way to ski in St Moritz."

The most affordable way to ski in St Moritz. Accommodation was perfectly fine, not the highest of quality but was expecting. Big international mix which was a great positive. V nice pool and sauna, but word of warning saunas is not mixed! Lots of options, very nice local cuisine available and obviously nice having the free bar to order whatever drink you like. Not ski in ski out, located 5-10 min walk from centre of St Moritz. 5 min walk to closest lift but free Club Med shuttle to take you there and back. Get into centre of St Moritz to see the lake. The most affordable way to ski in St Moritz.

Great for the price. Rooms are very warm, ski stuff dries out quickly, no fridge in rooms, old fashioned hair dryers but clean. Feels very Safe for children. Great ski instructors, my intermediate group was a small group and a great mix of people. Mountain restaurant is amazing and includes wine mains and salads. Separate Italian restaurant is lovely. Massive choice for kids’ food / love the afternoon tea and canapés with entertainment. Not ski in ski out, about 10-minute walk otherwise public bus are available. Once a week they will have a coach taking people to a much quieter glacier which is ideal for busy half term dates. Good quality of ski and hire stuff – brand new. Ice rink is short distance from hotel with skates available to hire.

It was all really good, we had a good time. It’s such a beautiful resort and the town is really nice. The main lake is all frozen over and there’s ice skating going on and it was really nice for walking around. They’ve also got horses around the place and in the town and also horse races going on. It’s very pretty! They had a nice swimming pool, nice gym, saunas, wet rooms and all of that. We used all the facilities and it could sometimes get kind of busy at certain times of day, but it didn’t put us off using it. It was all good. I would say it was standard Club Med quality and I mean that in a positive way. You get what you’re paying for and it was very nice. We were really happy with our holiday overall. The food was good, although I didn’t think there was enough vegan options for one of our group members. There was enough, but not many choices for them I’d say. Overall I’d say it was good. The one thing I would mention is that you wouldn’t necessarily want to come back for lunch, because of the busses. So they give out lunch vouchers (one for each ski area) but you’ve got to get your hands on one of the vouchers from reception the night before. The restaurants mountain are quite busy, but the food is fine, more than satisfactory. We had to get the bus every morning from the hotel to the bottom of the lifts. There’s 3 different resorts in St Moritz and I guess we kind of underestimated that because there were a lot of people wanting to get on the busses at the same time. Having said that, we were so lucky with the weather and the snow that it seems really tripe to be upset about that because we actually had a really good holiday. I guess people should just know that there is a little bit of jockeying around to get the busses, but apart from that it was great.
