Turks and Caicos school holidays deals

Turks and Caicos is a luxury location and an exceptional holiday destination for families, with plenty of fun activities to enjoy. You’ll find the most crowds and highest prices during peak season, from December to March, especially during the school holidays. If possible, it’s best to travel outside of half-term holidays, that way you’ll get the best deals and hopefully your first-choice accommodation. We know for most families this isn’t possible, so we’ve put together a guide to travelling to Turks and Caicos in the school holidays, to help you make the most out of your holiday. We recommend you start planning your holiday as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. Speak to one of our friendly travel experts and start planning your trip today.

Weather in the Turks and Caicos during school holidays

February Half Term

This is a very popular time for tourism as the February half term lands in peak season, which has very low chances of rainfall. The temperature is pleasant, with average highs of 27°C and lows of 23°C.

Easter holidays

The Easter break between March and April is another busy time in Turks and Caicos. The weather is ideal as there’s lots of sunshine, low chances of rainfall and temperatures reach highs of 28 °C and lows of 24°C.

May Half Term

There’s more chance of rain during May, but temperatures are hot, with average highs of 30°C and lows of 25°C. There is usually a pleasant, light breeze.

Summer holidays

Hurricane season runs throughout the entire summer holidays. However, storms in July are extremely rare. In this month, the weather is hot and tropical, with some light rain showers. Average temperatures reach highs of 32°C and lows of 27°C, so if you choose to travel in this month, you can still experience warm weather and sunshine. During low season, prices are cheaper than previous school breaks! The same applies throughout August and September, however chances of storms increase during these months.

October Half Term

Hurricane season continues throughout October, so you can expect some short tropical downpours which usually occur in the evenings. The weather remains hot and tropical, with temperatures reaching average highs of 30°C and lows of 26°C. Holidays during this time will also have lower prices than in peak season.

Christmas & New Year

December marks the end of hurricane season, which makes this one of the best months to visit. Chances of rainfall are very low; the weather is lovely and warm with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures reach average highs of 27°C and lows of 24°C. Peak season starts up again, so prices and crowds shoot back up.

Best destinations for half term & school holidays in Turks and Caicos

The Grace Bay area in Providenciales is the ideal location for families. Most of the island’s large family-friendly resorts are in this region, which is ideal for visiting during the busy peak season. Staying in this area also means you’ll be right next to the award-winning Grace Bay Beach. This breath-taking beach has calm and shallow waters, perfect for you and the kids to have a go at snorkelling. There’s a ton of watersports you can try here, including paddle boarding, parasailing, jet skiing and much more.

After all that adventure, you’ll really get up an appetite. The good news is there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in this area. The great news is they’re all amazing! We recommend Bay Bistro, they use fresh ingredients to make delicious traditional Caribbean food, as well as international dishes. We recommend tasting the Cocovan.

As well as the world-famous Grace Bay Beach, Providenciales is home to lots of other stunning beaches, vibrant reefs and marine wetlands. These form part of a protected area called The Princess Alexandra National Park. If you’re looking for a quieter holiday, you’ll love staying in South Caicos. It’s very peaceful here, but there’s still plenty of activities to keep your family entertained.
