Best activities in Turks and Caicos for families

The Turks and Caicos has so many places to explore. We recommend booking a boat charter excursion and doing some island hopping. You can find the perfect tour for your family, from two-hour journeys to full-day adventures. A lot of companies also offer waterslides, snorkelling gear, and beach barbeques as part of their packages. Little Water Cay is a popular destination for families, kids love watching the local Rock Iguanas in their natural habitat. If that doesn’t float your boat, be your own tour guide and hire kayaks for the whole family!

Snorkelling is a top activity here in the Turks and Caicos, the best reefs can be found in Providenciales. Discover the wonderful underwater world in the safe waters of The Bight Reef. Also known as Coral Gardens, this reef is a fantastic spot to snorkel, especially if you’re not a confident snorkeller. The reef starts really close to the beach, so it’s great for kids too. There’s also Smith’s Reef, which is more extensive and home to a more diverse range of coral and fish.

Best destinations in Turks and Caicos for families

Providenciales is the best destination in Turks and Caicos if you’re planning a family holiday. There are plenty of beaches to explore, Taylor Bay has silky soft sand and very calm, shallow waters. This is an ideal spot to kick back and relax, especially if you’re travelling with very young children. Sapodilla Bay is a very small and sheltered beach, meaning it also has very shallow and calm waters, so your little ones can splash among the fishes safely. That’s only naming a few of many beaches here in Providenciales!

The Grace Bay area is top of the list for incredible all-inclusive resorts paired with the stunning Grace Bay Beach. As well as a huge variety of watersports, there’s also lots of boat charters to choose from if you fancy venturing deeper into the ocean. Many offer waterslides and snorkelling, which your kids will absolutely love. Little Water Cay, also known as Iguana Island, is only a short boat trip from Providenciales. The whole family will love getting up close and personal with the rock iguanas that live here.
