Festivals and events in St Lucia in April

April is still high tourist season and there are several weekly events that take place, especially after Easter. Every Friday in St Lucia is ‘fish fry-day’, where locals and travellers come together for a street party and fry up in the streets. We recommend strolling between the many stalls selling locally made crafts, food and drinks. Enjoy different types of delicious local food such as dahl, fish cakes, and grilled chicken, while sipping on a Piton, the local St Lucian beer.

Top places to visit St Lucia in April

No wayfaring voyager has visited St Lucia without being enthralled by its many beaches, which are exceptionally beautiful even by Caribbean standards. In April, you can add seeing turtle hatchlings to your Caribbean checklist. Coconut Bay Resort partners with local organizations to monitor turtle nests and ensure that turtle hatchlings aren’t interrupted. Guests are also able to attend releases into the ocean while learning about the three different turtle species native to St Lucia: Leatherback, Hawksbill, and Green, as well as ongoing conservation efforts. This really is a unique experience and not one to be missed.

While April is comfortably hot, it is also one of the months with the lowest levels of humidity. This means you can spend time relaxing on the beach as well as enjoying some adventures further inland. We recommend trekking to the top of the iconic Gros Piton. Cast an eye over exotic birds, unfurling jungle canopies and some of the most breath-taking views to be found in the Caribbean. Or why not rent an ATV and go on an off-road mission? Aanansi ATV Tours offer locally guided ATV tours which will take you through rural farming communities, plantations and past historical sites.
