They are if you don’t have the time to plan or are just feeling spontaneous and looking for a tropical getaway. The beauty of a last-minute holiday to Antigua is that it is a destination where you don’t have to do a great deal of planning. As the island is only 14 miles long, you can leave the itinerary planning for your journey over there or get some tips from the locals and hotel concierge when you arrive.

Antigua and Barbuda are fantastic year-round, boasting a warm tropical climate with some cooler breezes from the trade winds. The islands can get very humid during the rainy season though, so if you’re looking for drier weather with temperatures around 28°C then we suggest visiting between December and April. Bear in mind that prices will be higher during the dry season, but there are certainly some cheeky deals to be had outside the school holidays. For a last-minute trip, you don’t have the luxury of being too fussy, but be aware that the risk of hurricanes is greatest from mid-August to mid-October.
