Established in 1935 the Austrian ski resort Tauplitz lies at 1965 metres altitude in the Steiermark / Styria region of the Austrian Alps / Alpes. With the highest lifts and ski slopes below 2500m Tauplitz ski area is not snow sure. Over 20 snow cannons ensure artificial Tauplitz snow making covers 15km of ski trails, which equates to around 70 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Tauplitz (Austria) is Salzburg at a distance of 95km or approximately 90 minutes driving time. Tauplitz ski season runs from December to April.

A traditional family ski centre with a population of just over a thousand. It is nonetheless usually a lively place with three discothèques operational in the evenings. The skiing is accessed from the edge of the village and joins to that above Bad Mitterndorf.
