SNO-man says
In the central Aragon Pyrenees Formigal offers skiers four different valleys and Spain's largest ski area. For a complete experience on and off the slopes, the ultra-modern ski station and stylish purpose-built resort of Formigal has replaced many lifts with smooth, modern detachable chairlifts and the introduction of Spain’s first ever eight-seater chairlift.
Ideal for the beginner and the expert skier alike, the modern ski facilities provide some of the best skiing in the Pyrenees. The immaculately groomed pistes are equipped with a high-capacity lift system and the comfortable hands-free lift passes incorporate a system which prevents inadvertent access to slopes beyond the abilities of the skier.

Off slope facilities is another area where Formigal has improved in recent years. Snowmobiling is possible on a 2km permanent circuit at Anayet between 10am and 5pm daily, with nocturnal excursions organised between 5 and 10pm. A marginally slower service is provided by a dog sled team, or there are more conventional sleigh rides. Walkers can rent snowshoes in the resort.
A now long standing tradition in the resort has been the weekly torchlit descent from the top to bottom station in which guests can participate if they wish. Other attractions remain somewhat limited. There is a gymnasium where you can also get a massage, a hydro massage and a sauna.
The famous twelfth century church in the valley is worth of a visit, and there's a thermal health centre - the Balneario de Panticosa with indoor and outdoor pools and a wealth of spa treatments.
