Established in 1928 the Austrian ski resort Altenmarkt lies at 856 metres altitude in the Salzburgerland region of the Austrian Alps / Alpes. With the highest lifts and ski slopes at 1700m Altenmarkt ski area is not snow sure. Over 15 snow cannons ensure artificial Altenmarkt snow making covers 2.5km of ski trails, which equates to around 25 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Altenmarkt (Austria) is Salzburg at a distance of 70km or approximately 60 minutes driving time. Altenmarkt ski season runs from December to June.

A pretty, traditional village with a moderate ski area that plays host to World Cup races. The ski slopes provide beautiful views over Altenmarkt and neighbouring Radstadt and the surrounding mountains. The ski area is especially suited to families and novices as it boasts easy pistes and nursery slopes at the base stations. The new Königslehen 8-person cable-car in Radstadt takes you quickly and safely to the top of the mountain.
