Established in 1928 the Austrian ski resort Altenmarkt lies at 856 metres altitude in the Salzburgerland region of the Austrian Alps / Alpes. A pretty, traditional village with a moderate ski area that plays host to World Cup races. The ski slopes provide beautiful views over Altenmarkt and neighbouring Radstadt and the surrounding mountains. The ski area is especially suited to families and novices as it boasts easy pistes and nursery slopes at the base stations. The new Königslehen 8-person cable-car in Radstadt takes you quickly and safely to the top of the mountain.
