Whistler Child Care

Whistler is one of the best resorts in the world for families. Children of all ages are well catered for in every way they could require, as are their parents. The car-free environment makes the resort as safe as any mountain centre can be. As you would expect, there's a huge choice of ski school options for kids. Daycare is available for very young children aged 3 to 36 months, while kids aged up to 4 are introduced to skiing "one boot at a time" - combined with a lot of indoor play of course. Three and four year olds get the basics required for a lifetime of skiing through games and activities. Kids aged 3 to 12 can also sign up for a '5-day camp' - the most popular of Whistler's schemes which runs Monday to Fridays. Children age 5 up can participate in snowboarding rather than skiing if they prefer. There's an option just to book single full day programs for children over 5 and private lessons for children of all ages are also available. In all cases advance booking is strongly recommended due to the popularity of the courses. Youth programs begin from age 13 and run to 17 with 'Ride Tribe' - the emphasis is on lots of action and movement and minimal sitting around. Kids love the many offslope activities available for families - especially the Recreation Centre's fun pool. Organised evening activities, dubbed 'Kids' Night Out' are staged for 5 to 12 year olds between 6 and 9pm twice a week.
