Inverness Airport (INV) is a 20 minute drive from the centre of Inverness – the capital of the highlands and the UK’s most northern city.

Ranked Scotland’s best airport (and 3^rd in the UK) in the Wanderlust Travel Awards, it has flights to ski airports including Zurich, Innsbruck and Geneva.

Driving to Inverness Airport:

Driving from Inverness: Stay on the A96 until you reach the left turning for the B9039. From there the airport will be clearly signed.

Driving from the south / north / west: Follow the A9 towards Inverness, then take the A96 towards Nairn and Aberdeen. Continue along the A96 through 3 roundabouts, then turn left onto the B9039.

Driving from the east: Drive along the A96 towards Highland, when you get to the King Street/A96 roundabout, take the first exit and follow signs to the airport.

Parking at Inverness Airport:

The Short Stay car park can be found opposite the terminal. Last time we checked there was free parking for the first 20 minutes, with the cost of an hour’s parking being £3.

The Long Stay car park is to the right of the terminal. For periods of less than 3 days, the cost is around £10 per day, with subsequent days costing £6 a day.

Trains to/from Inverness Airport:

The nearest station is Inverness, which is about a quarter of an hour’s drive from the airport. You can also reach it by bus the station is under 5 minutes’ walk away from the Academy Street Stop by the Eastgate Shopping Centre.

Trains serve a number of stations in the Highlands, including Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Wick.

Taxis to/from Inverness Airport:

Inverness Taxis can either be pre-booked or are available directly outside the terminal. Albatross Inverness has private chauffeured transport.

Coaches to/from Inverness Airport:

National Express have coaches to Inverness bus station in Farraline Park. You can then transfer to the airport via the Stagecoach 11 bus to Elgin (the journey takes about half an hour).

Lounges:

The Highland Lounge looks out over the runway. Complimentary drinks, magazines and a bar are available as well as Wi-Fi.

Food and Drink:

D’Lish Landside Restaurant has a mixture of snacks including sandwiches, fresh cakes and a hot breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Segafredo café is after security for snacks and drinks.

Shopping:

Shops include a WH Smith, a Jail Dornoch selling designer clothes and a Fly Nip for fabulous whiskies.

Wi-Fi:

Last time we checked there was Wi-Fi access throughout the terminal.
