Along the promenade from cosmopolitan Riva, Torbole is located on the north end of Lake Garda and welcomes a lovely breeze - fantastic for taking the edge off the heat in the summer months when temperatures in Lake Garda can get quite high. August is one of Lake Garda’s hottest months and Torbole is one of our favourite resorts at this time of year.

Enjoy the warm, breezy weather in a splendidly laid back atmosphere and know that, whatever activities or vibe you’re looking for, this town is a great all-rounder. Whether you’re travelling in the school holidays as a family, couple or group and seeking an active, sightseeing or more chilled out summer holiday, Torbole has a bit of everything.

The best way to enjoy the August sunshine in Torbole is on the beach. Our favourite in the area is the Lido Blu; it’s large with small pebbles and gorgeously clear water and receives lots of wind, making it great for windsurfing, as well as being very refreshing in August’s hot weather. Lido Blu is a great choice if you’re staying here with children as it’s lifeguard patrolled and has a fun mini golf course nearby.

If you’re not soaking up the laid back atmosphere from one of the beaches, cafes and lively bars or visiting the town’s churches and historical buildings, there are lots of more active things to do in Torbole. The town is one of the best for water sports (windsurfing, kayaking, kite surfing and sailing) and has some great walking and cycling routes too. You can walk to Riva down the promenade, explore the ruins of Penede Castle and discover amazing panoramic views over the town and lake at Belvedere (take your camera). For an adventurous day out, the Busatte Adventure park has zip wires, climbing nets, rope courses and a bike park in a safe and supervised environment.

Torbole is great any time of year but especially so in the hottest summer months where the weather is a perfect combination of glorious sunshine and cooling breezes.
