- Grand Hotel Bristol description
It doesn’t matter where you are at the Grand Hotel Bristol, the views are amazing. It’s on the coast of Rapallo overlooking the sea and Portofino Promontory, a protected forested area. There’s some great hiking trails through here and we’d recommend it if you’re a keen walker.
As soon as you arrive at this hotel you’ll know you’ve picked somewhere special to stay. The Art Nouveau building stands out on the promenade and the interior is just as impressive. It’s been restored so it’s quite modern inside – think parquet floors in the rooms and art deco furniture in the bar. The pool is a real highlight. It’s at the front of the hotel so gets the sea views. We love chilling out here all day with a good book. It’s so relaxing. When the evening draws in, you’ll find us in the bar having apertivo and watching the sunset. There are two restaurants to choose from for dinner. Le Cupole Restaurant comes highly recommended - it serves fresh, local food and you can dine al fresco on the roof terrace. There’s also plenty of bars and restaurants to try in the centre of Rapallo. It’s a pleasant walk along the coastal path.

Meals - food and drink in Grand Hotel Bristol
A buffet breakfast is served each morning in the Chamberlain Terrace Restaurant. If you would like to upgrade to half board there are two dinner options to choose from - the Bristol Bistrot Restaurant where you'll have three course dinners or Le Cupole Restaurant where you can choose from the à la carte menu. If you opt for full board you'll have lunch in the hotel bar Le Vide della Seta or from around June to September lunch is served at the pool bar.
Bristol Bistrot Restaurant is the hotels main restaurant where they serve tasty Italian dishes. Everything from pizza to ravioli. In the summer you can eat outside on the terrace and enjoy sea views.
Le Cupole Resturant is on the tenth floor of the hotel with panoramic views over the Gulf of Tigullio. The menu created by Chef Graziano Duca combines tradition and creativity, producing the most delicious meals. It's even included in the Michelin guide having been awarded a 'Plate' for its quality food. We'd recommend giving one of the tasting menu's a try. All of the food here follows the zero-kilometre philosophy - so they use local produce wherever possible. In the summer you can dine al fresco on the terrace with breath-taking views of the promontory of Portofino.
Chamberlain Terrace Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel with a large panoramic terrace overlooking the pool and the bay. A buffet breakfast is served here every morning.
Le vie della Seta Cocktail Bar is a great place for an aperitif or even an after dinner drink. Try a cocktail recommended by the hotel's bartender.
Pool Bar is open from around June to September (subject to weather conditions) serving drinks and light snacks.
