2 reviews of Chalet Baren in St Anton, Austria.

It was our first experience in a catered chalet as well as our first time skiing in Austria and we had a very good week all round.
The guests we stayed with were very nice and the people who looked after us all were excellent. They cooked us something different every night and it was a bit like being in a restaurant. Everything was very well organised and presented, no complaints at all.
The bedrooms were, as expected, basic - just how they’re described on the website. The location would have been perfect if there had been snow going down to the chalet, but it was the end of the season and that’s what you get sometimes. We just needed to take the bus to the next lift along which took us up the mountain.

Practically ski-in ski-out, the nearest piste is an easy 30 yards to the west, and from here a 200y glide down the blue run Stalimahder Fang24 and the Nasserein gonodola. Under standard snow conditions however, guests are able to ski straight to the gondola from the chalet. While not all the rooms are en-suite, they are all reasonably spacious, giving you plenty of room to either lounge with friends, or individually. For a social life, the quieter bars are just round the corner (like Tom Dooley Café). The wilder nights out can be found a brief ten minute walk away in places like Alibar Bar and St Anton Bar, so whatever you fancy, you won’t be too far from the entertainment.
