Megève offers a vast choice of non winter sports activities of all kinds. The resort's unique cultural assets will appeal to many. In how many ski resorts can you follow the 'Chemin du Calvaire" (The Way of the Cross) from the village centre to the Mont d'Arbois, the route is lined with chapels and oratories which recall the scenes of the Passion of Christ.
If you are not interested so much in religious history there are some 50km (32 miles) of marked and cleared winter trails on other routes around the village; you can take a guided walk or you can try snow shoeing from the Guides' Office Also on the cultural side there is a library and two museums.
Outdoor sports include paragliding, mountaineering and dog sledding. The altiport is the base for scenic flights and piloting by helicopter or 'plane. Paragliding is also offered through three different schools.
Megève boasts a large indoor sports complex with Olympic size ice rink with curling, indoor tennis courts, a fitness gym with dance rooms and a large swimming pool with children's pool, sauna, Turkish bath and even a trampoline.
This is the perfect place for serious pampering. Megève is famous for its beauty farms which offer all imaginable health and beauty programs. These include techniques such as oil baths, high pressure showers, seaweed packs, in-depth skin cleansing and a self-heating mud pack. In addition to these 'fixed assets' the resort organises a full schedule of performances, exhibitions concerts, films and conferences throughout the season.
Coach tours are also organised via the Mont Blanc Tunnel in to Italy's Aosta Valley. The resort also has three libraries as well as indoor and outdoor tennis.
