Established in 1948 the Italian ski resort La Thuile lies at 1450 metres altitude in the Aosta Valley / Vallee d'Aoste region of the Italian Alps / Alpes. With the highest lifts and ski slopes at 2642m La Thuile ski area is snow sure. Over 300 snow cannons ensure artificial La Thuile snow making covers 35km of ski trails, which equates to around 35 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to La Thuile (Italy) is Geneva / Geneve at a distance of 120km or approximately 120 minutes driving time. La Thuile ski season runs from December to April.

The best of the off-slope sports facilities are to be found in the Planibel Sports Club where there's a gymnasium, indoor pool with sauna and solarium - most of them free to Planibel guests. Elsewhere in the village there's a public library, games room and you can try winter hiking.
A regular bus service runs to the provincial capital of Aosta as well as to Courmayeur for shopping and sightseeing.
