We really enjoyed Flaine and the Grand Massif, but the apartments weren’t ideal. Ours was said to have a shower, but actually just had a shower head without a holder – which meant that one of us had to hold while the other showered. Also the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The kitchen facilities were act... + more

Apartment was clean and well equipped - much further away from the slopes than we had wanted. Our only complaint was that it did not have anywhere to hang ski jackets ie no hooks. But a great time was had by all. + more

The apartment was fine although it was slightly further away from the lifts than we would have liked – right at the other end of the road from the place where the lifts were. On 2 days there was enough snow to ski out but the rest of the week everyone had to use the bus. In all fairness the bus stop was close ... + more

At just an hour's drive from Geneva, Flaine's known as a 'fly-in, ski-in ski-out' resort. The ease of skiing that families and keen skiers rave about here's no accident – legendary architect Marcel Lajos Breuer designed it to be as ski friendly as possible, and he did a jolly good job. A ski lift or piste is never far away, and the town itself is entirely traffic-free, with cars only allowed to enter to drop off and pick up luggage. Whilst it won't be winning the gong for chocolate box charm, Breuer's work...
With its high altitudes producing outstanding ski conditions throughout the season, Flaine is famed for offering an all-round ski area with plenty of slopes for all abilities. It is the perfect place for some quality skiing or snowboarding. Flaine is a popular place to learn to ski or snowboard and even has free beginners lifts for those who are finding their feet. The schools all have English speaking instructors who can guide you through the basics and have you gliding down the slopes in no time. Once you...
The excellent skiing in the resort is matched by fun après ski, and there's something to suit everyone - from a family night out to an all-night party thanks to a range of places to eat, drink and dance. If you're staying in Flaine Forum, you'll enjoy all the restaurants and bars right on your doorstep. The après is a short bus ride from Flaine Foret which is considered the slightly more residential part of Flaine. You can get a ski lift or shuttle bus into the town for après so you won't be missing out. ...

"All the family needed"

We had a fantastic week! The apartments are really close to the ski school which was great for the kids. Inside was basic but fine for what we used it for, a bit dated but I believe that’s the style over there. It seemed a bit strange at first having the kids’ bunk beds in the hallway but it actually ended up working quite well. The location was fine in terms of eating out – a bit more choice of restaurants would have been good but we found a few good places, and it was quiet enough that we were seated straight away. There was also a shop a couple of minutes away and another a little further on.

"Not ideal accommodation, but liked Flaine"

We really enjoyed Flaine and the Grand Massif, but the apartments weren’t ideal. Ours was said to have a shower, but actually just had a shower head without a holder – which meant that one of us had to hold while the other showered. Also the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The kitchen facilities were actually good with an oven and microwave, can’t fault that. There are 2 Spar shops which we had vouchers for with the holiday, however it is worth being aware that food is expensive there! The location was perfect as the apartments are near to the lifts down to Flaine Forum, literally at the foot of the lifts.

"Actual apartments fine, though a bit far from the lifts"

The apartment was fine although it was slightly further away from the lifts than we would have liked – right at the other end of the road from the place where the lifts were. On 2 days there was enough snow to ski out but the rest of the week everyone had to use the bus. In all fairness the bus stop was close by, I could look out the balcony and see the bus stop exactly opposite. The actual apartment was good and well equipped with everything we needed. The supermarket was very nearby, a maximum of a 3 minute walk away. We ate out every evening and there are loads of restaurants within easy walking distance.
