The chalet was really nice: the food was good, we liked the reps and the staff were friendly. We were staying with a good mix of people and one thing that was really nice was being brought tea or coffee in the mornings. The reason we wouldn’t stay again is the location, it was just too far away from everything. If you didn’t want to get on a crowded bus it was a real trek uphill. The buses weren’t that regular anyway and because of the location they were always pretty full by the time they got to us – they weren’t for the... + more

Chalet Leonardo enjoys a quiet location just a ten minute walk from the centre of Méribel. Beautifully finished in wood and stone the well-appointed interior is both stylish and comfortable. Special features include a stylish open-plan living and dining area, a traditional open log fire and under floor heating on the ground floor. The chalet, consisting of 9 bedrooms and an apartment, also boasts a large south-facing terrace with spectacular views of the Méribel valley.

Chalet Leonardo I - sleeps 14 (room numbers in brackets):
ground floor: Entrance hall, stylish open-plan living and dining area, with a traditional open log fire and under floor heating. From the living area there is access to the large south-facing terrace with spectacular views of the Méribel valley. Small twin bedroom off the entrance hall with private bath and WC (1).
first floor: 4 twin bedrooms with private bath and WC (2, 3, 6 & 7). 2 double bedrooms with private bath and WC (4 & 5).

Chalet Leonardo II - sleeps 8-12 (room numbers in brackets):
second floor: twin bedroom with private bath and WC (8). Split level room with twin beds and mezzanine floor with twin beds (only suitable for 12yrs and over as accessed via steep ladder), private bathroom and WC (9). Very large apartment style room (max 5 adults or 4 adults & 2 children) with double and twin beds and small twin bedroom with skylight sharing a private bathroom and WC (10).

Meals: Chalet Leonardo I & II food & drink

• all meals are taken in Leonardo I, accessed via an internal staircase from Leonardo II • hearty breakfast with one cooked option (6 mornings a week) • afternoon tea with home-made cakes • pre-dinner canapés and drinks • 3 course evening meals (6 evenings a week) • selection of wines with dinner • cheeseboard, fresh coffee and a glass of port after dinner • early meals for children available

"A really nice chalet but a horrid journey home"

The chalet was really nice: the food was good, we liked the reps and the staff were friendly. We were staying with a good mix of people and one thing that was really nice was being brought tea or coffee in the mornings. We didn’t have any proper lighting in our room but they sorted that out pretty quickly. There’s a separate apartment upstairs which they planned as a place for children but the children ended up being downstairs with the rest of us. One thing that could have been better is if they’d delivered us into the centre of Meribel. I’ve been with other chalet companies who bus you back, you just send a text and they’re there in 15 minutes. Meribel’s public bus service is pretty poor and you can end up waiting for ages. Everything else was good and we had a great stay until our journey home, which turned out to be a horrid end to a nice holiday. They knew the roads were blocked and that the next lot of people wouldn'd be able to reach the resort. With better contingency plans they’d have kept us in the chalet for an extra night rather than putting us on a shambolic 9 hour coach journey, which resulted in us sleeping on a gym floor.

The chalet itself was fine, no problems with the rooms which were a good size, the hosts were great and we had good food.
