With its incredible views out to sea, Hotel Sirius is a no brainer when it comes to choosing somewhere to stay in Taormina. It's in the perfect position, just a short walk from the historical centre and the Corso Umberto, the town's pedestrianised main street. It's also right beside the cable car that links the town to the coast so you can easily get your beach fix down in Mazzarò Bay or explore Isola Bella.
There's a distinctly Sicilian feel to the hotel. It's set inside a traditional villa with beautiful antique pieces of furniture, Sicilian pottery and tiled floors. All of the rooms are individually decorated, so no two are the same. They do, however, all have balconies - which we love. If you can, upgrade to one of the sea view rooms - there's something so relaxing about waking up to views of the glittering water. Head for a continental breakfast with more amazing views of the coast. In the summer you'll have it outside on the panoramic terrace. Between July and September you can have dinner out here too (payable locally).
The large infinity pool is so refreshing, especially in the height of the hot Sicilian summers. It's surrounded by greenery with plenty of sun loungers to chill out on while you soak up the sea views. If you plan on seeing other parts of Sicily, the main busstation is close by. There are routes all across the island, so hop on a bus and get exploring.
Transfer time: approx. 1 hour by private car from Catania airport.
Local Fees and Taxes
Resort tax of approx. €3.50 per person (aged 12+) per night for a maximum of 10 nights is payable locally.

This hotel may not be suitable for guests with walking difficulties as there is a steep slope up to the entrance.
Breakfast is buffet style and served in the dining room on the third floor, which means you get spectacular views over the Ionian coast. The summer restaurant opens on the third floor terrace from July to the end of September so you can have dinners up here and enjoy those views even longer. Every day they prepare a choice of delicious local dishes as well as international options. They have an excellent selection of wines too - speak to your waiter for recommendations on which ones best complement your meal. The menu is à la carte with table service and payable locally. Open from 7.30pm - 9.30pm inside and 8pm - 10pm outside on the terrace.
The hotel's bar opens up in the evenings between 6pm and 11pm and is a great place for pre-dinner drinks.
