Hotel Portici is in Riva's historic centre and looks out over the beautiful Piazza Ill Novembre. The building's been updated but still has a few of the original features of the old palazzo. Inside, the rooms are fresh and simple and if you'd like views across the piazza you can upgrade to a Superior Room.
There's plenty to see and do in the area with the beach, castle, MAG museum and the clock tower all nearby. It's a great base for an active holiday too. You can hire boats on the lake and there's lots of opportunity for sailing and wind surfing, which the area's known for. There's lots of lovely walks along the lakeside or up into the mountains and the staff can also recommend some great cycling routes for you to try out. Being so close to the ferry point, you'll be able to hop across to other resorts on the lake easily.
The bed and breakfast board basis means you can try out Riva's many lovely restaurants each evening. The hotel has it's own à la carte restaurant and pizzeria where you can eat on the terrace that sprawls out into the piazza - the area's pedestrianised so its a lovely spot for people watching.
