Hotel Piccola Vela has been a favourite with our guests for many years. The service here is great and you’re always welcomed with a smile, whether that’s at reception, when you come down for breakfast or when you’re having a night cap in the cosy bar. The hotel used to be a private villa and it’s tucked away nicely from the road, with a large driveway leading up to the impressive porch. There’s a pool in the gardens, which is a lovely place to relax when it’s sunny. If you get too hot, head for a shady spot under the olive trees. The restaurant terrace is right next to the pool so you won’t have to venture far for lunch. Around the back of the hotel is a pretty lemon garden and a small thermo-heated pool. There’s also a small spa if relaxation’s on the agenda.

The hotel’s very close to the centre of Desenzano. You can walk to the lake in around ten minutes and there’s bars and restaurants just a few minutes away. The train station is also close by so day trips to nearby cities like Venice and Verona are nice and easy. After busy day exploring, the hotel’s rooms feel really welcoming. They’re all modern in style with deep-set mattresses and neutral colours.

Breakfast is served from 7am to 11am and offers a large variety of fresh food including products grown in the hotel's own vegetable garden. You can eat on the garden terrace in good weather.

The hotel's restaurant is open for dinner between 7pm and 9pm serving traditional Italian cuisine and international choices. You'll get a 15% discount on à la carte dinner menu. A small menu is available for lunch with seasonal food. During summer, you can enjoy lunch on the terrace surrounded by gardens.

There's a bar too, which is a relaxing space where you can enjoy a wine, cocktail or coffee after dinner.
