New Year’s here is certain to make sure you enter the coming year with a bang.
Style and sophistication is the essence in this resort. There are a number of high class restaurants around the resort to cater for a very special evening, many with individual set menus specifically designed to make your night one to remember. One option is the Beaver Creek Chophouse, which has offered a five course set menu from the last few years to satisfy your taste buds. Another would be the Toscanini restaurant which has a moderately priced set menu, with an even better priced kids menu, perfect for the family.
To get into the party mood, there are usually fireworks in the Beaver Creek village plaza early in the evening, making sure they are at a suitable time for the younger audience to catch them. In addition, the past few years has featured a glow stick ski down, for intermediate and advanced skiers to carry glow sticks whilst skiing down a darkened slope to create a beautiful spectacle and ambience for both the partakers and spectators. This has been followed by a torch lit ski procession by a group of professional skiers, with real fire lit torches lighting the mountain, perfect viewing for all the family.
The resort organises a party (with a cover charge that goes to charity) most New Years; usually at McCoy’s, there are live DJs to create a cool mood whilst you watch balloon drops, one earlier for the children and one at midnight, take part in raffles and enjoy the merriment late into the night.
If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, head down to the town of Avon just a few minutes outside of the resort, where there is usually a free party in the Agave with the theme “Keeping it real”.
