Villars Easter holidays

With the 3000m glacier’s season typically lasting until around the beginning of May, all levels of skier should be able to enjoy some good quality slopes as late as Easter. The highest runs of Villars and Gryon are usually pretty decent too, particularly the reds at Chamossaire and the Roc D’Orsay – where you can admire views of Alps from the summit then ski down to the bowl for drinks in the sunshine. If slush does begin to set in, the north-facing and mostly tree-sheltered Meilleret (reached via the Perche Conche) tends to be the resort’s shadiest area.

In the afternoons, you might find yourself heading back to the resort slightly earlier than other times of the season. The usually mild spring weather does have an impact on the skiing, though by stopping at the Col de Bretaye before taking the lift down, you can relax on its sun terrace and develop that all-important tan! The village also has some great après activities including swimming and ice skating in the indoor rink, while you’ve got plenty of spare time to explore its bars and restaurants – you can’t spend Easter in Switzerland without enjoying as much Swiss chocolate as possible!
