St Moritz Easter holidays

When it comes to Easter skiing you’re going to want a high-altitude resort, preferably with glacier skiing and good snow making facilities, as well as some north-facing slopes to ensure that the ski conditions are still good enough this late in the season – St. Moritz certainly ticks all those boxes. In fact it actually has some of the highest ski slopes in Switzerland and not one, but two glacier ski areas. You would probably also like somewhere with a pleasant town centre with shops, good places to eat and some fun après-ski or entertainment – again St. Moritz is perfect for all this. We haven’t even mentioned the resort’s rich history: it’s known as the birthplace of winter tourism and has hosted the winter Olympics twice. Last but not least, there’s the stunning setting – the town sits on the edge of a frozen lake with views of the 4000m peaks stretching towards Italy.

The skiing is first-rate with 350km of slopes in 4 different areas to play in. Intermediates are very well catered for with lots of great long red runs, some of which wind back down to the town, as well as 3 snow parks to practice tricks in. Beginners and children will also feel at home, with plenty of nursery slopes to choose from and an excellent children’s play area, ski school and kindergarten in Salastrains. Advanced skiers and boarders can either carve up the challenging black runs (look out for the Olympia run used in the winter Olympics), or venture off-piste (you can hire a guide and explore Val Arlas over in Diavolezza).

As you probably know, St. Moritz is one of the most luxurious and fashionable resorts in the Alps – scrap that, the world - so if you’d like to match your accommodation to the style of the town take a look at our top 5 star and 4 star hotels. These come with fantastic extra facilities – from heated indoor swimming pools to on-site childcare. Thanks to our great discounts and super package deals, you’ll be pleased to find that all our hotels are surprisingly affordable, and you can get a lot more for your money than you might expect. If you choose one of our package deals you’ll be getting flights, accommodation and transfers included, and some of our packages even come with more extras such as ski hire or ski lessons.
