For a fun-filled February half term head to the Graubünden region with some of the best skiing in Switzerland – think hundreds of miles of well-groomed slopes, fantastic snow parks, excellent children’s areas (‘Madrisaland’ near Klosters is not to be missed) and brilliant off-piste (the Wang slope is notorious among powder-lovers). There’s plenty to suit children, beginners and more experienced skiers in both ski areas thanks to the variety of the terrain. Also, Davos and Klosters have been awarded the Swiss Tourism Association’s ‘Families Welcome’ seal because of the great amenities for children and teenagers in both towns and also on the slopes. If you’re a young group, or a family travelling with teenagers who like to do tricks, you’ll probably like the awesome Corviglia snow park over in the Engadin ski area.
The best destination for non-skiers and for great evening entertainment is either Davos or St. Moritz, although Klosters does have plenty to keep you busy off the slopes too, with sleigh rides, flood-lit toboggan runs and the Kulturschuppen Cinema. Davos has lots of good gourmet restaurants, shopping, a great sports centre with tennis and climbing, a casino and the largest natural ice rink in Europe. It’s only a 20 minute train journey to Davos from Klosters, so you can always visit after skiing if you’re in need of more après-ski options. St. Moritz has the best nightlife, with lots of cool clubs and wide variety of bars to explore; head to The Devil's Place if you’d like to sample the record-breaking whiskey collection – there are over 2500 types to work your way through! Klosters has some interesting bars too, Gene Kelly used to dance on the tables in the famous piano bar at Chesa Grischuna which is still frequented by celebrities today.
