The February half term school break makes a fantastic time for any group to visit Baqueira: in previous seasons, the resort has managed to escape any peak-week overcrowding which means powder junkies and learners alike can really make the most of the area.

Best of all, February’s historically the best time of the year for snow here, with a whopping 315cm of depth last season, so not only will the pistes be excellent but the staggering amount of off-piste which the valley is known for will be ripe for the taking – just be sure to hire a guide!

Families will find Baq 1500 well equipped with a nursery for younger kids and the hugely rated British Baqueira Ski School, who provide high quality, fluent English speaking ski and snowboard tuition for budding snow fanatics of all abilities.

Other groups can still count on the relatively empty and world-class ski terrain to tide them over each day until it’s time to head down for wine, tapas and the late-starting Spanish nightlife scene.
