4 reviews of Chalet Hotel Turquoise in La Plagne, France.

Liked La Plagne and have booked a return trip there, but not at the Turquoise, we wouldn’t stay there again. The food was absolutely dreadful, to the extent that children and adults alike couldn’t eat it. Not the manager, but the other staff were brilliant and we couldn’t fault them – a particular mention to a guy called Sam who was almost the highlight of our holiday (at one point his manager told him off for talking to us, which shouldn’t have happened when he was being so brilliant). The rooms and the bathrooms were clean.

Overall the hotel has a good site on the piste. You walk in under the hotel and then up into it. Any level of skier could ski out and you’re 2 minutes from the centre of Belle Plagne. There are 5-6 buildings in a row on the piste, with slopes on either side, so all rooms looked out to the piste.
It was clean and tidy.
Rooms were tiny, with tiny toilets (like an aircraft toilet) and tiny bathrooms.
The staff were great and very helpful, but the chef wasn’t good… Food was terrible and amateurish. There were lots of people staying there and no one was happy with the meals. Improving the food by just 15% would have been excellent. They served ice cold meatballs, which even as a starter should be hot. If they did pork, it would be pork for starter, pork for main, pudding…. One day when they did a quiz with nice things on the menu... Baked camembert for starter (which was cold), a main course and then cheese again after. It just wasn’t very well planned or pulled off.

Everything was great, I honestly can’t fault our family holiday here! Maybe I shouldn’t recommend it so that we can go back and enjoy it again… Location is incredibly central, and you can ski in and out. I really liked the food, my wife’s a vegetarian and she didn’t have any problems.

I had a nice double bed and balcony, bath and shower. The food could have been a bit more wholesome and better quality. It was very easy to get to the slopes as well as being very close to the centre. It’s not a picturesque village but having said that it was worth it for the skiing.
