We had a lovely stay in the Trattlerhof. The staff (including the lady in charge of the hotel) were really friendly and very accommodating. Our bedroom was nice and overall I don’t think the hotel was lacking in anyway.
The food was great, a bit beyond just Austrian cuisine but altogether really good dining. Even though it was ‘half board’, they did a free lunch from 1 until 4 with things like soup and they also had an après hutte on the road (the only apres place open in the village that week) where between 2 and 5 they did dishes like spaghetti bolognaise – all free. You needn’t have paid for lunch all week! The bar was always open if you needed it and although we didn’t use it, the pool looked very nice.
The bus stops right outside, so the fact that the hotel is outside the village isn’t a disadvantage at all. If we’d had enough snow, access to the pistes would have been excellent as the hotel is just along the road from the chair lift - we managed to use it at the beginning of the week but the conditions weren’t good enough for the rest of the holiday.
