Stag do @ Le Cret

Reviewed 7 Jun 2016

It was my stag do, and there was another group of lads from Manchester, then just one other family – so we weren’t best received…
The hotel is alright and the rooms are pretty big. We’ve stayed in nicer places before but this one was cheaper and the rooms reflected that. Everything is really loud there, you walk down a corridor and shut a door and it really slams, and the walls are paper thin. We ended up asking the family if they wanted to swap rooms with us so they could be higher up and away from the noise.
The location was spot on for us as it’s literally right by quite a few of the bars, and you can just walk up the hill for more.
The food was alright, breakfasts were pretty decent with the normal sausages and eggs. They’d do other bits if you asked them to so that was pretty good.
The staff were all good and the bar was alright.

Good position, great staff

Reviewed 12 May 2016

We had a brilliant week. Our room was cool and the staff were great, especially the manager Shirley who was really nice.
The food was good and we all enjoyed it throughout the week, it wasn’t the best food I’ve ever eaten but it was exactly what it needed to be. Breakfasts you could have whatever you wanted. There was lots of flexibility, a couple of our friends staying elsewhere were allowed to eat with us. The hotel also has a really good location.

Great package deal & I would recommend the hotel.

Basic room but has all you need for a skiing holiday.
Small bathroom but plenty of lovely hot water.
Rooms were very hot but you can adjust the radiators.
Minor housekeeping issue where the floors needed damp dusting/mopping or sweeping under beds around furniture.
3 course set meal every night. Mainly one-pot dishes but tasty and plenty to go round. Always offered more too. Puddings were great.
Team were friendly.
Small areas for socialising, but it was cosy by the fire in the evenings after dinner.
Boot room isn't heated which was a downside but we hired skis from Alborg and they held the boots and skis over night for us, no extra charge and they open promptly at 8.45am, so plenty of time to get to lessons as ski school was round the corner.
There was some noise when night owls came past the hotel but nothing untoward and soon quietened down.
Ideal place for a group or family, great package with 2for1 lift passes and half board.
Afternoon tea available every day too and some of the cakes were delicious.

Wonderful Lodge Le Cret

Reviewed 17 Mar 2014

Great chalet, warm cosy rooms (some with large balconies overlooking ski area), attentive helpful staff, great chef, close to slopes and ski lift, in centre of resort near bars, restaurants and shops.....what more could you ask for!?
The positives - great three course meal every night, hot breakfast, afternoon tea and cakes, wifi, several lounge areas, bar in chalet and underneath, Polar Bear Bar opposite very good, clean bathrooms with plenty of hot water...
the negatives - really cannot think of any!
