1 review of Hotel Alpinresort in Saalbach, Austria.

The hotel is fantastic, we wanted all inclusive so while it may sound expensive, you get so much for it. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to anyone, while we were here there were families, couples, business trips and a big range of generations. They have several different dining areas and they’re very good at not mixing people so if you’re here as a couple you won’t end up eating with children. The food was good and they have a choice of 48 wines all included.
It’s independently run by delightful people. The ski school opposite is owned by the family who run the hotel which was really useful for us – at lunchtime the kids come back to the hotel to eat on the first few days and then at the end of the week you pay 30 euros which takes care of food on the mountain as well as lunchtime supervision which means the parents can enjoy the skiing too.
The boot room is well organised. They had just opened the outdoor pool which has amazing access from indoors to outdoors, which is magical with children when it’s snowing. The spa is amazing and I used it a lot, they have lovely Austrian saunas and Jacuzzis but also a textile sauna and hot tub where you can take your towel in, so you’re not left out if you want to keep yourself covered.
We’ve only ever stayed in the main hotel because it meant we could comfortably leave our son in his room while we were at the bar, he knew the barman and where he could find us if he needed. The other part of the hotel is opposite on the other side of the road – it’s a hop skip and a jump across the road but there’s also an underground tunnel you can go through.
You have to walk to the lifts in the morning and how long it takes depends on which lift you’re going (probably only 3-5 minutes). Last year we could ski back to the ski school, remove skis and walk over the road to the hotel which was really easy, but this year the snow wasn’t as good.
We never usually go back to the same place twice but it’s so relaxed and friendly that we have returned here and if I was going to Saalbach again I would definitely stay in the Alpin again. Several of the other people we stayed with have returned and I’ve sent people there too as it’s so good.
