Lovely hotel but take a mattress topper!

Reviewed 16 Apr 2015

The hotel was lovely, it’s in a great location but the beds were absolutely horrendous. The mattresses were made from a horribly hard foam and were just dreadful to sleep on. They were accommodating about it, I asked for a couple of soft duvets and they gave us a blanket. A lot of people staying there were having trouble, people were using their fleeces as mattress toppers...
With the holiday, adults got 75 euros each behind the bar but they didn’t give children anything, which in effect made the children more expensive than adults because they were drinking things like coke throughout the week. They should probably either extend the deal to children or get rid of it altogether.
Other than this everything else was good!

Very friendly hotel, lovely week!

Reviewed 9 Apr 2015

We all had a very good time here, the hotel’s a bit dated but this was more than made up for by the friendliness of the place; everyone was really nice and obliging. The food was lovely, traditional Italian meals with a lot of variety every night and a big choice at breakfast. The rooms we used were all fine and the bus that took us up to the slopes every morning was great.

Couldn’t fault it

Reviewed 28 Apr 2014

We had a very good week, the hotel is absolutely great!
It suited me and my wife down to the ground.
The only downside is that you’ve got to get onto the minibus to get to the slopes, you couldn’t have walked it, but the bus was always on time and it only took about 10 minutes. I’d definitely go back and wouldn’t be put off by the fact that you have to get the minibus. Although you need the bus for the slopes, you’re just a short stroll into the town if you want a bit of nightlife (and the nightlife is really nice in Sauze d’Oulx, it doesn’t have the “Benidorm” reputation any more!).
I’d heard a lot of people complain about the size of rooms before, but I found that the size of the room for 2 people was more than adequate. Everything in the hotel was finished to a high standard, the bar was good and the fitness/jacuzzi area was excellent.
The food was exceptional – I’ve stayed in other Italian resorts and usually say that the best way to do it is B&B so you can eat out, but you couldn’t have got better food than we got in the hotel itself. They had lots of traditional Italian stuff, you might not like it if you’re a bit picky but we loved it.
