Loved it!

Loved the chalet! The location was brill, right in the middle of things and the view over to the slope where they do the nighttime skiing was fab. We absolutely adored the outdoor jacuzzi on the balcony, and looked forward to the evenings, sipping G&T's whilst relaxing in the jacuzzi and watching the activities in the square. Our bedroom was fine, clean, warm and large enough for two, maybe the shower could have had more elbow room, but it was adequate. The chalet hosts were great, nothing was too much trouble and special requests were catered for without any problem (earl grey tea, yay!). Boot room facilities - were large enough to cater for the chalet and the boot warmers were appreciated, the only down side being the sometimes precarious snow slope to get to it. The proximity to the ski hire shop was much appreciated, as was the proximity to the slopes, which almost made it "ski-in" I think the chalet is best suited to couples; and the small size of the chalet makes it easy to get to know the other guests, you didn't feel like strangers. I'd rate the chalet at 4.5/5 for the price, the main criticisms being the size of the shower and the infrequent changing of the towels/nowhere to hang them to dry properly (& a broken jacussi top). Val D'Isere itself was a fun place, with plenty to do in the evening (if you wanted to); plenty of bars/restaurants, shops for browsing and a weekly street party with free gluhwein, hic! I'd definately be very happy to go back to the same chalet again, but this year we're off to Austria with friends. Oops, nearly forgot to mention the great skiing area!

Wonderful place to relax very near the skiing

There’s nothing better than a soak in a hot tub to get rid of any aches and pains resulting from a day on the slopes. So slip into the Jacuzzi on the balcony (check the hot tub is operating on your dates "before" you book) at the Rousset and you’ll also be able to gaze out at the wintery wonderland of Val d’Isere. Most of the rooms are en suite and all have private facilities (double check this before you book), and the closest lifts and nightlife less than a hundred metres away, so the location is pretty perfect as well. You can also virtually ski back to the door at the end of the day.
