What a fantastic week!

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

We had a fantastic week, the chalet is good, clean and warm and kitted out really well with all the usual mod cons like WiFi and a television. The main thing was that the food was good and the chalet host’s morale and the way they looked after us all was excellent. They helped us with where to ski, showing us which pistes were good on the map, and recommended a good restaurant for a meal on the night off.
When you walked in the chalet, you had the ski and snowboard storage area, jacuzzi and steam room on the ground floor and then you had to climb up to get to the 1st floor which had the living space and kitchen area. On the 2nd floor up were the beds and I’m not sure whether there was another floor for other guests or not as we all stayed on the 2nd floor.
The cooked breakfast was ready for us when we got up in the morning and at tea time, tea and cakes were all laid up when we arrived back. We’d come back for the tea and then offload and unwind (there’s a jacuzzi and sauna to wind down in) while they cooked our meal and then in the evening we had a three course dinner. The catering on the whole was pretty much 80% good but sometimes the portions were not big enough and after a long ski day you need your calories, so a couple of the guys felt undernourished - the quality was always good, it was just the portion sizes. On the Wednesday which is the chalet host’s day off, we went to a restaurant that was literally 2-3 minutes walk up the road, we had to book in advance which is definitely worth doing on your first or second day to make sure you have a table, especially if you're a group like us.
The chalet is literally a minutes’ walk up the road to the piste and then you ski or snowboard down to the bubble lift that takes you straight up. The only downside is that the WiFi coverage wasn’t really spectacular and sometimes the jacuzzi didn’t work very well (only because it needed covering).
