Good value, not big, top location

Reviewed 18 Mar 2014

Nothing wrong with chalet – it was good for what I paid and reasonable value.
It’s quite small and there’s no TV which is fine if you don’t mind conversing with everyone else in the evenings.
Our room was functional but a bit tight for two of us, but it did the job we needed of it. Only negative is that you could get noise, there’s a popular night club next to the chalet and out of the 4 rooms I think ours was the one that was vulnerable to the noise. We could look out of our window and see the people standing outside the bar. The noise wasn’t a problem at all for us but for young children or light sleepers it might not be best. The wee girl who hosted the chalet was great and besides my son and I, there was a nice family staying there and we all got on well. The food was 4/5, good but some dishes were a bit strange, there were some vegetables I had never seen before! The boot room was fine and it was easy enough to get the boots in and out.
Couldn’t fault the location, definitely 5/5 – it’s dead handy; you fall out of the hotel into the town centre. It’s a 4 minute walk to the Olympic lift. The best way back to the chalet is down by the black Face run – it looks like a bit of a scary one but is a really magnificent descent. The chalet is right next to the bus stop, which is about 20 seconds away. If you’re going to La Daille, it’s only one stop from the chalet which takes about 4 minutes on the bus.
