Excellent for families

The chalet is basic and slightly tired but that wasn’t a problem, we expected 3* and that’s what it is - it more than met our needs.
While the accommodation itself was on the tired side, the staff were great and made the holiday. While I’d give the actual chalet a 3/5, the food and ambiance and staff would get a 5/5.
The boot room had plenty of space.
The rooms were fine, the kids had a big room upstairs. The bathrooms were tiny, you couldn’t fit two people in at the same time as it was literally a shower, tiny sink and toilet, but the hot water worked so they were fine. The rooms are basic but the bar area is great and there’s a wee lounge area with a wood burning stove and places to sit, so we didn’t use the bedroom apart from sleeping in.
The food was great and afternoon tea in particular was amazing – homemade soups and savoury nibbles as well as a big cake, biscuits, tea and coffee. They were really good with our kids being slightly older and let them eat with the adults, whereas the younger children ate earlier.
It’s perfectly situated – to get out, we literally had to walk 200m for the ski down to the chair lift and we skied right back to the door every night – no having to trail skis about or use buses. The only thing that would have made it any better would be if there were more shops and bars nearby, as the kids like to go out for a wander after skiing.
I would definitely recommend saying here, especially if you have kids.

We had a great week here, the chalet hotel food was excellent (a good variety of options, and nice breakfasts to fuel us up!). The staff were all really friendly and accommodating – especially the manager. My room was adequate and I was happy with the space. The town centre was a bus ride away and the slopes were next door!

We liked it and I have to say that the managers were fabulous. They all worked well – good bar staff, wonderful food – I can’t sing their praises highly enough.
It’s a 3 star-ish sort of place but we weren’t looking for luxury and the rooms and showers were fine.
Our only difficulty was with the location. The chalet is at the end of a cul-de-sac, not in the main Tignes area so you’re dependent on the bus, which stops at 8:30pm (so if you want to go out at night time you end up paying a fortune). The bus was very infrequent in the mornings, so if you missed your bus you could well miss your lessons. We managed to catch it every morning but had to run a few times!
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind to us and we only had one good day of skiing, but other its location, the chalet hotel was great.
