Avoid back rooms because of noise

Reviewed 8 Jun 2016

Really good! The chalet was clean and the staff were really polite – no complaints. It does what it looks like it’s going to do, basic but perfect. The food was great; it was more English than French (I’d personally prefer a bit more French but the person I went with would say the opposite!). The bedroom was fine, though one downside was that it was really noisy at night. Our balcony overlooked a night club that didn’t shut until 3 o’clock in the morning so we didn’t get much sleep all week. We were in one of the back rooms as it was supposed to be quieter, but actually it was worse! The location is perfect for getting to the slopes, it was just a 5 minute walk if that.

Le Curling @ New Year 2015/16

Reviewed 2 Jun 2016

Overall good! Because of the location in the middle of town there’s quite a lot of noise (it’s right by two clubs) so I would recommend staying as high as you can as the lower rooms get more noise. You’re only a couple of minutes from the slopes though which is really good. The actual rooms are really nice and clean. The eating area could do with an update but a chalet’s a chalet! Food was fine.

Superb! Just bring earplugs!

Reviewed 5 May 2016

The chalet hotel is nice. I knew when I booked that there’s a night club underneath and it’s certainly a bit noisy at night, I wish I’d brought ear plugs! I found out on the last day that they had some on reception…
Other than that, superb! The staff were great and I liked all of the food. The hotel has a great location, to get to the actual slopes probably took about a 3 minute walk, less coming back as you could board most of the way. Interior of bedrooms etc was absolutely fine with everything being clean and tidy. It didn’t look 5* but it doesn’t say its 5*.

Good Snow & Good Accommodation

Reviewed 27 Apr 2015

The chalet hotel’s nice and not too fancy, and I like basic for skiing. The food was fine, I’m not a foodie and it was everything I needed. The staff were generally speaking great, apart from the manageress who was very unfriendly and didn’t seem to be enjoying her job at all (if it hadn't been for her, I would rate the experience a 5 out of 5). Le curling has a beautiful location for access to the skiing.

Very well sited & good food!

Reviewed 14 Apr 2015

We had a very good week! We ended up being redirected here with 2 days’ notice because there wasn’t any snow in Chamonix at the beginning of the season. The staff were great and we had a great choice of food throughout the week with 4-5 courses each evening and lots of variety. There were a couple of teething problems (I don’t think it was due to open so early) for example a minor plumbing issue but it was all sorted out very quickly. The property is very well sited and we could walk to the slopes in about 5 minutes.

Brilliant

Reviewed 18 Mar 2015

The chalet hotel was brilliant, everyone was really helpful and kind and our room (twin) was very nice. They were completely able to cater for my vegan diet and we enjoyed the food - quite surprised how good it was (also ate out a couple of nights and there are some really nice restaurants in the area). I didn’t mind the food ordering process – basically you choose your evening meal at breakfast time – but it did seem to bother a couple of the other guests. Location-wise, it’s unbelievably easy to get around: next door was a nice bakery and we found a route that took you straight down to the lifts on skis.
