Nice chalet

Reviewed 24 Jun 2015

It’s a good chalet, we were travelling as a group of 3 so the triple room suited us well. It was a bit cramped but OK overall. It’s a big chalet and there was lots of room elsewhere for all of the guests. The food was very good and the young staff looked after everyone very well. The location was excellent overall, it was a wee bit of an issue having to get the tow lift to the slopes but it wasn’t too bad! We went to one restaurant, an American steak place called Hemingway’s which I would recommend – just take the chair down about 50 metres to reach it.

Good location, poor food

Reviewed 30 Mar 2015

The location was good – Les Arcs is such a small resort that you can get around easily. It probably took us about 15-20 minutes to get from the chalet to the piste. The food was pretty poor to be honest, after quite a long trip to the resort, the first starter we had was a small and cold bit of quiche which for 5 blokes who hadn’t eaten for hours wasn’t great. Our rooms and the rest of the chalet were OK.

Def consider staying here again

Reviewed 18 Mar 2014

Would definitely consider staying in this chalet again. In general, we thought it was pretty good. The staff were particularly good and the young guys who did the food were great. The wee kitchen on the top floor didn’t have a very good extractor so the smells from the cooking were quite strong, you ended up smelling like the food if you hung around there too long!
Certain things were a little tatty inside but the room was ok. We had room 6 on the ground floor for 3 of us, with a twin bed and a separate bed around the corner by the entrance door. It was really warm, to the point we had to open the balcony door some times, but this is much better than being cold. There wasn’t much cupboard space or much hanging space for drying stuff, which wasn’t a problem for us but if you pack a lot of stuff it might be a problem. For some reason in the bathroom, the shower head is only a few inches above the edge of the bath so showering was a little bit awkward but other than that the bedroom was fine. There’s a boot room cupboard in the corridor which was fine for what we needed.
I wouldn’t class the chalet as ski in ski out. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the drag lift and when we were here the snow was particularly deep and it got quite icy. The alternative route (up through lifts, through top building, across where the ticket office is) was a bit of a faff so younger children or older skiers might have trouble.
