Brilliant host & catering

Reviewed 28 Apr 2015

The guy who looked after this particular chalet was brilliant and the catering was excellent. In terms of the actual chalet, the size of the social area was fine for the amount of people staying there and our room was adequate. We knew when we booked that the chalet wasn’t quite ski in, ski out but it was relatively handy for getting to the slopes. We had a good week overall, we didn’t want somewhere noisy and La Rosiere’s good for that, though it would have been nicer to have more snow!

Functional - fine for a last minute ski holiday

Reviewed 18 Jun 2014

This chalet is more like a series of flats which share a communal sauna/wellness area than a stand alone chalet. The chalet was made up of one big open plan room with a living area and a kitchen and then several bedrooms coming off this. It was functional rather than cosy – the maintenance could have been better (it was questionable when the Jacuzzi baths had last been properly serviced), but overall it was fine. The rooms weren’t huge. It was suitable for the price we paid. When we go away skiing were not too fussed about the standard of the accommodation, were not expecting luxury if we are getting a good last minute deal.
The staff were great and the cooking was fine. I’m relatively easy to please when it comes to food. It wasn’t too noisy (our last ski holiday the chalet was better quality but the walls were paper thin). The location of the chalet was good, you could walk about 100 yards and then ski down to the lifts. It was very handy for skiing. For the first half of the week you could ski down the path to the chalet making it almost ski in / ski out.
The skiing on La Thuile side was better in my opinion than on the La Rosiere side. There was enough snow although it was late in the season and it did get stodgy as the day wore on.

Perfect location, great food

Reviewed 28 May 2014

Had a good week, the food was one of the best things, it was really nice. We had breakfast and afternoon tea – they were the best cakes I’ve ever had – and the dinner was lovely.
They had a problem with the heating and had to fetch portable heaters. We had WiFi which was good and there are some great views from the chalet. The room I was in was tiny, I shared it with a mate and you’d think we had a double bed the singles were so close... it was a bit claustrophobic. The bathroom was absolutely fine, there was plenty of hot water and it was nice to have a whirlpool bath after a day’s skiing.
You’re in a perfect location, just a hundred metre walk onto the main chair lift. You could walk into the village down a track, which would take about 10-15 minutes, or the bus pulled up right outside the chalet.

Attractive stone & timber alpine accom'

Reviewed 21 Jan 2014

Sharing the same building as Belette, Choucas, Moet and Marmotte, you’ll be in good company, as you make the short journey with your fellow skiers to the piste and ski school meeting point, a brief 250m and 150m walk away, respectively. In the evening, if you’re feeling up for it, the walk to town will take you about 15minutes, depending how achy your legs are after a day of skiing. Better still, we recommend you catch the bus which stops right outside the building!
