New Year’s being what it is, and Italians being who they are, you’ll be hard pressed to not find a party at the coming of the New Year. As a chic and popular mountain town, it is quite typical for such a big night that most of the bars and restaurants in and around Via Roma are open until late. Many tend to offer large, multi-course meals of the finest mountain cuisine, before letting guests burn it off by dancing away to the sound of a live band or DJ.

Courmayeur is world famous for its fantastic food - Pierre Alexis is a great start if you’re looking for good quality food and vino in the pedestrianised area and the best bars, like Bar Roma, are very close by if you want to party into the night.

For a little adrenaline thrown in with the celebrations, Maison Vieille is accessible from the Plan Checrouit cable car, and in the past has provided snow sleighs and snowmobiles to ferry people back and forth for an evening of great food and wine to see in the New Year.

A night-time demonstration with 180 instructors from the Mont Blanc Ski School traditionally perform a night time lit torch precession down the mountain and the traditional fireworks are always a great finish before you return to party into the night.
